The Dawgs dropped a 3-0 decision to the visiting Fort McMurray Giants at Seaman Stadium on Friday night. Combined with the Sylvan Lake Gulls’ 15-8 win over the Brooks Bombers, Okotoks’ lead in the division is down to one game with seven contests left in the regular season.

The Dawgs (36-13) could only muster four hits in the loss, while their pitchers recorded seven strikeouts.

A trio of Okotoks batters did extend hitting streaks: Brendan Luther (10 games), Connor Crowson (6) and Nash Crowell (3).

Dawgs starter Brody Forno threw two shutout innings while allowing two hits and striking out two. Okotoks used five relievers, who combined to allow three runs on seven hits.

The Dawgs will wrap up the three-game series with the Giants in Okotoks on Saturday at 7:05 p.m.
